LVL Lay-up and Pressing Line R7

The lay-up and pressing stages are at the core of LVL production. This is where individual veneer sheets are assembled into a load-bearing structure and transformed into a finished LVL product.

Raute's LVL Lay-up and Pressing Line R7 is designed to manufacture LVL according to international standards and customer-specific requirements. The line supports the most common LVL raw materials, including pine, spruce, and fir, and can also accommodate hardwood veneers where enhanced strength properties are required.

The highly automated line requires only three operators and integrates the key production phases into one continuous process. Pre-pressing enables short production interruptions for the removal of defective material without compromising product quality, helping maintain a stable process and consistent end-product performance.

The process uses phenol-based adhesive to create durable bond lines designed to perform throughout the product's service life. Hot pressing ensures strong and permanent glue lines while helping maintain dimensional stability.

Built on more than four decades of LVL expertise, the Lay-up and Pressing Line R7 combines proven process technology with efficient production. The hot press can utilize energy generated from mill by-products, supporting efficient use of available resources.
